Chelsea to finally secure striker?
The transfer merry go round isn’t so much in full swing as coming off its axis. It’s madness out there. Never a team to be outdone, Chelsea are of course at the fore where it comes to speculation surrounding deadline deals. Despite having signed Wigan’s Victor Moses the top brass at Stamford Bridge seem hellbent on signing another striker and the pendulum keeps swinging between three or four players.
The Hulk speculation has died down in the last few days. Cavani apparently represents poor value at £35m . And Falcao has been floating around on the periphery.
But the André Schürrle bandwagon keeps rolling on. He perhaps represents the most likely deal of the lot because, at 21, he wouldn’t expect to come straight into the team, thus keeping the fragile Fernando’s nose in joint. If Torres keeps performing then he will surely keep his place for the biggest games, leaving the Leverkusen striker with time to develop into the top talent that Chelsea believe he will become.
The Guardian reports that Chelsea are considering another bid for the player who already has a scoring ratio of 1 in 3. After a couple or rejected bids, a fee of around £20m should snare the striker, despite the German club stating that they don’t want to sell.
After all the striker spec at Stamford, we think that a deal is likely to be done before the deadline. Watch this space for more.
