Chelsea in for Manchester United star – report
If somebody said to me,
‘oi. mate, apparently David De Gea is going to Chelsea’,
‘I’m not your mate‘ followed by
‘you must be off your absolute chops mate’.
It seems highly fanciful conjecture, but this hasn’t stopped Spanish media outlet AS reporting just such a story in their latest edition. Apparently, despite several superb displays in between the sticks at Manchester United of late, Sir Alex Ferguson is still looking to cash in for a more experienced stopper.
De Gea has been cat like in goal for Manchester United this calendar year, showing remarkable athleticism and repelling shots with every limb. But, even in his best performances, question marks have remained about his presence in the area and ability to deal with crosses. His shot stopping and overall reflexes are first class but he doesn’t half make you nervous when he comes out to collect a cross with ten minutes to go in a tight game. Literally anything can happen. Suffice to say the flap happy Spaniard rarely comes away with the ball. But, even though he sometimes has the gait of a slightly troubled teenage skateboarder, he is still one heck of a keeper.
So Chelsea want De Gea and Manchester United want Victor Valdez to replace him. Quite who Barcelona will go for to replace Valdes in this tall story is unclear. Maybe they will put in a cheeky bid for Chelsea’s new signing David de Gea…. Who Chelsea decide to sell because he still can’t deal with crosses. But they just wanted to make sure.
The brilliant if only it were true news doesn’t stop there. AS also reports that Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are all in for Malaga’s young playmaker Isco. The brilliant imp, who looks tailor made for the top, is wanted by just about every club who has any wish to succeed in this crazy industry.
Here’s a super snippet of some Isco skills and ting.
