Agent says Manchester United target has made his decision
18 months ago I couldn’t even spell the name Lewandowski. But such has been the rise in profile of the player since Euro 2012 that he now seems to be on the lips of many of Europe’s elite clubs.
Lewandowski made his name as part of the Dortmund side that won the title so impressively last season. Many felt that Dortmund would fall away after releasing Shinji Kagawa to Manchester United. But, while they haven’t been so impressive on the domestic front this year, they have drawn praise from all quarters for their displays in Europe.
Key to their continued success is the Polish striker. His representative has now gone on the record to report that, after discussions with all of his suitors, he has made a decision on where he will play next season.
‘Robert has made his decision,’ Cezary Kucharski, said. ‘Only he decides when he will make his decision public, though.
‘Those who have followed Robert’s career will realise that he’s never stayed at a club for longer than two seasons.
‘He’s already in his third season at Dortmund. Read between the lines and you’ll know what this means.’
It’s a bit of a curious statement from Cezary Kucharski as it’s not only arguably a little disrespectful to his current club, but also suggests that he may only fancy a couple of years at his next destination.
But this doesn’t seem to have put off the list of clubs wanting to sign him. The Daily Mail suggests that this short-list is now confined to Manchester United, Bayern Munchen and Juventus.
Manchester United have been linked with the striker for a long time now but would surely have to offload a forward if they want to bring Lewandowski in. With Wayne Rooney and RvP guaranteed to stay, the axe might fall on Javier Hernandez, who has recently been linked again with a move to Real Madrid.
Manchester United have made no comment about the Pole and it will interesting to see who ultimately stumps up the reported £25.5m that it will require to buy him.
Let’s have a look at his highlights shall we? Yes, let’s!
